The World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) does not have a Board of Directors. The site of our annual convention is not selected by a Board or by an Executive Committee, and there is no mechanism in place for qualifying or disqualifying sites. The only way to influence the location of future Worldcons is by becoming a member of Worldcon and voting in site selection.
The site of the World Science Fiction Convention is selected two years in advance by the members of the current year’s Worldcon. Bids are presented by groups that want to host the Worldcon. Bidding groups file their bids with the current Worldcon, and generally start promoting their bids at least two years in advance of the election. We have collected here on our site information about bidding.
